Nice van, Statesman/Premier side moulds are easily removed. Nice and subtle with no stripes. What plant is it from? If it had been an auto I'd be real tempted!

    Yes!
But 308 TH400 DL7 is the go for me. HJ is my pick, preferably Kingswood ute, in white or silver mist. I'd take a van too. Atlantis blue is very nice though, but my pick of HZ colours is probably white or ultra blue.

    Byron, DL7 and ultra blue...

Getting this back on topic, that's one nice van, hope you find a good home for it.

I hope those side strips are stick on in the very first picture! (obviously pre-paint)

Surely the carpet in the back didn't come from the factory

I agree. Lovely HZ. I prefer HJ personally. Just wondering whether or not the ID plate is stamped with the irreplacable XX7 print? :Chin:

Or more importantly XU3. A 1978 HZ XX7 van is easily picked, doesn't need XX7.

Wow you are picky Byron...lol. You are correct, they are a dealer fitted accessory. However, when you are 23 yrs old and buying a new Sandman ute off the floor, the salesman asked, what option's if any would I like to have fitted? I only needed mudflap's,so that's why I classed them as option's.

    Cheer's.

308 auto Sandmans were available, I have a few recorded. A lot of the series 1 Overlanders were genuine HX L31 M41 Sandmans probably as this was the easiest way to get a 308 ute or van. HZ L31 M41 are also rare but were available.

Being a 1978 van it would actually be 99.9% sure to be Brisbane or Adelaide assembly.

Robbo, mudflaps were an option you could actually choose and they would be dealer fitted unless XW5 (outback equipment package) was ordered where they were factory fitted. However I don't have any info that shows you could actually option the sill moulds, so these if these are on a car from new they'd have to be a dealer fitted accessory. Not sure if the wheelarch moulds fit the same category.
