Would have to be one of the best HZ Sandmans available. Is genuine in all aspects.

This is an Atlantis Blue one owner HZ Sandman that has been with the one owner since purchase in September 1978. This is totally original with an untouched 308. 180k on the clock. The van was repainted 3 years ago in original colour but two pack finish and is in immaculate condition no rust dents or bingles. This van has been garaged all its life. It was purchased without decals and has never had them applied. Original rims and centres with square edged chrome GM trims. The inside rear has been carpeted since new. The only other mods are premier sill chrome trims and chrome wheel arch trims. It is time for this beauty to go. The condition of this Sandman is totally original in all aspects and I would regard it as museum quality. This is not going to be a cheap buy. if you are in the market for an iconic example of Australian motoring history - this is the van for you. It will only increase in value.

Nice van, Statesman/Premier side moulds are easily removed. Nice and subtle with no stripes. What plant is it from? If it had been an auto I'd be real tempted!

    Yes!
But 308 TH400 DL7 is the go for me. HJ is my pick, preferably Kingswood ute, in white or silver mist. I'd take a van too. Atlantis blue is very nice though, but my pick of HZ colours is probably white or ultra blue.

    Byron, DL7 and ultra blue...

Getting this back on topic, that's one nice van, hope you find a good home for it.

Surely the carpet in the back didn't come from the factory

I agree. Lovely HZ. I prefer HJ personally. Just wondering whether or not the ID plate is stamped with the irreplacable XX7 print? :Chin:

Or more importantly XU3. A 1978 HZ XX7 van is easily picked, doesn't need XX7.
