    Atc350x

Anyone here know of a really good one of these for sale? Built in 1985 and 1986. Really after a mickey mouse untouched one, but an older one cheaper would be OK too, parts are cheap in the US.

I though 4 wheelers were just that as well until I went riding with a bloke who could ride one. He was quicker through the tight scrub than I was on my 450.

Sorry Byron, dont know of one. Didnt know you were into quads/trikes?

Have to agree though that I am a bit skeptical of trikes.

I used to have them as a kid. I had ATC90 trikes at first, we used to bore and stroke them to 250cc and even 310cc, ran them on methanol. Damn dangerous without suspension. I built 2 x trikes out of bikes too: one from a XL185 (year 10 school science project), the other from a XR250 in the 90's. I always intended to buy a new ATC350X in 1986/7 but they were stopped in production worldwide. Never understood why, Quads are 10x more dangerous than a trike. At least you can steer a trike, Quads just plough understeer or roll. You steer a trike using the throttle and leaning out into a corner like a Jetski (loading up the left rear tyre).
Anyway, been thinking about getting one again. If I can't find one i'll buy an old XR600 or IT490 or something like that and make another one. Would love to make one out of a newer KTM but it ends up being a bit pricey!

That one above is the last of them in 1986. A few were sold in Canada and the UK in 1987 as 1987 models but looked the same.

Its funny how all the things you wanted when you were young always seem to keep their appeal. I would love either a 85 model XR500 or a 79 twin shock XR500.
I remember the add for the 85 ones..."only the tough will inherit the earth". Always thought they were cool.
Those ATC's looked pretty good. A IT490 would have a bit of get up and go!

Looks like a XR350 motor in them?
