My fathers makes his living (retired from SAPOL) from selling off ebay. Not buying. He's a wheeler and dealer. Buys cheap, knows what to look for, and makes profit. In most cases, alot of profit.
In your case mate unless you want a negative mark against your selling name which he will post if you back out, I'd open a dispute with eBay. Of course send him one last email demonstrating your concern and your need to get rid of the item asap. Inform him on your present position and what you intend to do if he does not follow through on his action. Last thing you need as a seller is a negative strike against your selling name.
Like I said, I'm not my dad, but I do know you can open dispute cases via ebay in relation to sellers and I'm sure you can do the same in relation to buyers.
