If you have a book, read the remove/install some times it will show the nuts, bolt and the order to take them out and put them back. lots of labeld clip lock glad bags is what i use. if you ask nicely the missus can grab a box of them when she does the shopping hehe.

I got it all in on the weekend, it was all guesswork.
Luckily all the bolts from the engine and trans went in one box, all accessories went into another.

Just a note for anyone thinking of doing a resto.. LABEL EVERYTHING!!!!

So onto the next thing, more of a shout out really. hey ski man where did you get your chrome done? and also can anyone recommend anywhere to get zinc done in adelaide?

    Cheers in advance.

    Really?

Will a commodore heater motor really fit in a HQ-WB?

Would be a neat conversion, has anyone seen one or have photos?

sorry mook, missed the shout out.

    got my bumpers exchanged at:

    everlast automotive, wingfield.
10 ninth street (cnr seventh street)
    08 8359 1600

~ $400 for a front bar and about the same for the pair of rear bumperettes, you'll need straight exchange units, small dings and rust is fine as long as theyre not twisted.

the chrome is also copper based not nickel based (not sure what it means technially, but my painter tells me this is a very good thing and the chrome will last ages and not go white over time)

tail light surrounds, headlight surrounds and grille surround are all original items as i just spent ages hunting good bits.

    hope this helps

I would say its all about the look. Everyone (bar the handful of people on this site) know the difference between a sandman and a panelvan. so i thought that i would have a bit of fun restoring the wb into a sandman look a like. I would love to do an all original resto, but due to budget restraints i would much rater get the best possible parts for my money and build a car.

there is a little bit of everything on there, hopefull it'll all look right once it is done.

    Ultrasonic cleaning

In a few weeks time I'll Start experimenting with UltraSonic Cleaning.

You may have seen ultrasonic cleaners to clean jewelry, but i plan on making on big enough to clean car parts. I think this will work a treat to clean any plastic with grains (ie dash facias)

    see this link.
