I would say its all about the look. Everyone (bar the handful of people on this site) know the difference between a sandman and a panelvan. so i thought that i would have a bit of fun restoring the wb into a sandman look a like. I would love to do an all original resto, but due to budget restraints i would much rater get the best possible parts for my money and build a car.

there is a little bit of everything on there, hopefull it'll all look right once it is done.

    Ultrasonic cleaning

In a few weeks time I'll Start experimenting with UltraSonic Cleaning.

You may have seen ultrasonic cleaners to clean jewelry, but i plan on making on big enough to clean car parts. I think this will work a treat to clean any plastic with grains (ie dash facias)

    see this link.

You'll have a very personalized one of a kind look-a-like Sandman once its done mate, like none other on this site. I can definitely picture what your aiming at....

Who knows maybe once its complete you'll have your very own spread in a customs vans magazine...

    hey guys
Here, is another pic of the van with the nose cone on and the inner wheel guards.
    engine bay 2.jpg

can't wait to get my "new" rocker covers on.

after a talk with ambient, i have decided that the van will be mostly an HJ mockup. HJ Dash and painted an HJ colour...

Anyone have a NOS HJ grill that they would like to sell?

depending on the type of plating you want to do you can get DIY kits for Zinc plating.. But if you want to hot galvanize (i think thats what its called) you need to melt the zinc.. which means it needs to to be heated to 400+ degrees.. i think electroplating can be done through kits like this

Also with the DIY ultrasonic cleaner what you going to use to get the KHz needed
