Yeah they are different but why do they have the 3 way tap?

I believe, that the two way heater hose, switch went on vehicles which had evaporative, and exhaust emmission controls, both 6cyl and v8. On those 6 cyl and v8 without exhaust emission controls, had a 3 way tap, and the third pipe went to the intake manifold.

Ah, thanks Rod.
That does make sense as the HX-HZ engines had a 2 way vacuum valve which is now reproed, but the earlier car were a 3 way and impossible to find.
I think you can still get the taps through "gates" Not sure how they compare to rares repro but I would think the gates ones would be made somewhere other than china. Not sure. I can talk to gates if anyone likes as I deal with them at work. I might give em a call anyway.

The vacuum heater taps are not real flash that I have had on my ute. Two new ones and they both let hot water past into the heater core, which sort of defeats the AC a bit. Ended up using a pɹoɟ:cry: one that the AC man recommended.
