Looks more like Madeira red in that photo. Firethorn was used on the Commodore also, from memory wasn't the VH SS Commodore Firethorn Red?

I agree it looks like what our van would look like with a 2pk paint job in Madeira red....I put this pic as it is brighter when wet so looks more like Zsandy's van

Can anyone tell me what color this van is then . It's a 78 model.
It's near impossible to tell the real colour from a photo and also from cars that have been resprayed.
You might not be guaranteed a resprayed car is going to have the factory colour either.
You could look at http://mysandman.com.au/brochures.html
some of the guys here have supplied these original colour charts, it might help.
