    Rare Spares cowl drain tubes

Has anyone used RS cowl drain tubes on a HJ? I bought a set and the right hand side is not flared (left one is) to go over the metal drain spout. I tried fitting it but split the rubber tube. They are listed on RS site as fitting HQ - HZ.
Is it a RS stuff up or am I doing something wrong?

You know those drain tubes are a furphy dont you. They are cunningly designed to draw water upwards from the outlet and through osmosis transfer it to the upper corners of the cowl and promote rust.

Pfft.... The Rare Spares boys answered a question on HJ console lids over on the Fastlane forum that was completely incorrect..... if they can't correctly answer a question about parts on their own forum how do you expect them to make the parts correctly?????

I can't link to the thread at the moment as the Fastlane forum is down..... I'll try it again later..

Can you supply photos etc of which clips you have in your bay? iv read it twice now on here plus on fastlane that you mention our kit is wrong and incorrect to the parts catalogue, i have double checked and these clip kits are correct to my parts catalogue's, but like its been mentioned before these catalogues cant always be trusted and id much rather see them from an actual car. I have even tried finding a genuine unmolested hj to check against but they are next to impossible to find, every one has been modified in some way and not original so the parts catalogue is all i have to go off of in regards to those clips

here is the list of clips in the kit and this image was made cropping a few sections of the catalogue out, yes most of the clips are 6 cylinder clips but it is every clip we make to suit hj bays in the set, some are 6 some are 8 some are to suit both etc, im sure they cant ALL be wrong?

ill gladly add other clips to the set if need be and if we make them but which clips do you need? i do remember you showing me a 2818034 clip but iv just checked again and cant find this in any HJ catalogue, if someone else can confirm if this was infact in a hj i will add it in, the only other hj i could find didnt have it but it was also half stripped at the time

    Welcome to the forum BIGCAV.

You seem a little uptight, should we organise for OZ to give you a special massage?

    Welcome to the Forum BIGCAV

It is great to see Rare Spares taking a genuine interest in trying to improve their products and listening to the guys that actually use the parts.

Those same guys using the parts however need to realise that changes take time and will not happen overnight. Anyone who has had anything to do with making reproduction parts know it can be a long drawn out process just to get to an acceptable proofing stage let alone manufacturing. Improving current parts manufacturing can take just as long.

Guys.... Rares are making an effort to improve the quality of their parts.... lets give them our support, accurate feedback and be a little patient.
