I know Stickthis can arrange something for you - he has a mate that does the Melb to Perth run.

If that fails check with Ozbox, I believe he has a couple transport contacts as well.

Yep I do. Now where is their number!

EDIT Found it. That was quick.
Graham Read Transport 0418304748 Let him know Jason Ackland from Cummins put you onto him. He used to be my next door neighbor.

many carriers wont do cars that dont go. Or cars that have parts in the back. These guys will do anything. They do 90% caravans. But do plenty of other bits and pieces also.

I say hire a car trailer and do it yourself. Takes all the fun and experience out of it if you get someone to do it for you.

Are you suggesting mrsandman drive across Australia twice - Perth to Melb back to Perth?

Hahaha.... I did Brisbane to Melbourne to Brisbane towing a car trailer to pick up a van with a mate.... his van not mine. Was a fun road trip but with the trailer hire and fuel we used it pretty much cost the same as paying for it to be transported.

40hr + round trip non stop, leaving friday arvo and getting home very late Sunday night..... we took turns driving and were both knackered by the time we got home and didn't go to work on the Monday.

thanks for the phone number (one of the advantages of being a member of forums such as this one). anyway not all things go to plan.i rang graeme the next day and the van was picked up and taken to some depot in melbourne and has sat there in the weather ever since! he keeps telling me it will be on the way across to WA on one of the next loads. i am so glad i insisted the owner remove the tags and send them to me registered post. hope the van arrives soon, maybe before it rains in perth.
anyway in the mean time i flew with the mrs to adelaide , watched the clipsal v8s and drove my newly purchased 05 terismo 6ltr GTO home. so much more comfortable than the last trip to qld monaro nationals in a hj 4dr gts and return in ahq coupe.
p.s i will never complain about aussie post being snail mail again. the tags arrived 18/2, the vans still not here

Might have been easier to get a trailer and go get it yourself. :errf:
