As I said I have a production broadcast sheet for a HQ XX7 showing factory side glass. Anything one these sheets is factory fitment. It shows the option code up in the header plus has a Y in the box for FIXED SIDE WINDOWS

The glass on Agro's HZ is factory fitted... the glass on his HJ is dealer or after market fitment.
Dealers generally had local contractors to fit the side glass if and when needed. IE.. they had a windowless van in stock that the customer purchased but wanted side windows.
You can pick factory glass, it is narrower in height, the rear glass is longer than the front glass, factory glass has straight sides except for the rear side of the rear glass which is angled slightly to match the line of the rear pillar. The two panes are close together at the centre pillar.
All ex Government vans with side windows are factory fitted as that is how they were ordered.
The glass that was in Ians van is factory style also. I would bet money it was a factory side windows sandman.

How about vans like mine which has only two windows. Did 2 window vans come stock from factory or would a dealer need to send it off to a local contractor to have something like this done for the customer? :Chin:
Factory windows were two windows each side. Yours were most likely aftermarket fitment rather than dealer. Many people bought a windowless van only to find they are a mongrel to reverse parallel park so would take the van down to their local glass guy to have windows fitted. I have seen plenty of vans with just a front window either side like yours... I have also seen one front window only on the left side.
Windows might not look as good, particularly on a Sandman but they make the car a lot easier to drive.

HZ's. You can see the RTS badges on the tonners and also the HZ grille and side strips on the Premier
haha ok H'Z's. The point being that if these cars are on the way to Perth Dealers then the side windows are probably factory fitted ones.
btw this picture come from the hqss forums photobucket.
