Here are a few pics for inspiration. I understand there is an air tray that sits under the mold.

an air mold would be easer but unfourtunatly the agesive shape of these requires a press mold. so im making a reverse mold of the set i have and then a clamp ring to suit. fair bit of mucking around but once its made I should be able to crank out a few sets in no time.

problem here is that any large manufacturer doesnt want to do them..i approached a company that specialises in perspex and who reckon they had the moulds for the back windows..fantastic so i ordered 10 back windows and sent him a picture of the perspex tailight covers i have and also said i can supply a cut section to make the mold from.i told them i wanted them to send me an invoice on the back windows and i would do a direct deposit and they could then send them and i also told them i wanted a minimum of 30 pairs of tailight covers and a quote for the price....

guess what i got?.....a whole lot of sweet fuck all..no invoice on the 10 bubble windows no follow up or any sort of reply on the email...BIG FAT NOTHING....

so offshore i go..tailight covers are being done first and then windows..:crikey:

yea that doesnt really suprise me, alot of companies like that tend to be all talk and no action. Its a bummer that there arent alot of the bubble tailight covers still left about, seems only a few lucky, and smart people have a set. it is suprising though that someone isnt remaking and selling them, like for companies such as the one u emailed, it seems like a near impossible thing for them do.... yet bak when panelvans were all the rage a few companies seemed to making them and they wer alot less rare... just makes me wonder how if technology is suposedly getting more and more advanced, why is it so hard for someone to make then nowdays lol

but in saying that im no expert and probably have no idea what im on about lol, but thats my 2cents worth lol.

when u say offshore do u mean ur gonna look in other countries to get them made? that would be a pretty full on thing to get into i would think, but its so good to see someone is trying!

anyways keep us posted on how u go, cause i sure would love a couple of sets

Greg, have you contacted these guys below. This is a reply email I got from them a while ago for the rear tailgate tinted bubble window.

    Hi Sean

Yes we do make these. Cost is $150.00 plus GST. Pack and freight would be around $60.00.
