Heck the stripes are even in bloody good condition, not to mention the inside and under the hood! I guess thats what happens when the owner throws it under wraps since the 90's. Can't be happier with my purchase. Going to make the restoration easy easy easy!

There is always the other end of the argument.....

What happens when you find a HQ XX7 Kingswood ute that has been used as a builders ute and has a few dents and moderate rust????

At least we are not in the position XY/XW people are who start from a bare shell in a paddock and buy it "one piece at a time".

You buy it and fix it, or find a good shell for it if rust is too bad, unless it is an Elizabeth or Pagewood with BODY number, then you fix it. Or you wreck it out to keep other Sandmans alive! In Nicky's case he doesn't want a Sandman, just a van.

Some of us are Mauser, through our own choice though

This is my van when i 're-found' it

This is it this month, would anyone buy it if they found it in someones backyard like that, the reason i did was because i owned it back about '87 and thought it was dead, (close to)

It's good to get a guide on what people think is reasonable for bodywork and paint bacuse i think as many vans should be rescued as possible, it's only going to get harder and more expensive from here.
