Would love to see what the tags said so you could get an idea of what its worth. Has heaps of good points, but no idea from this end of a computer as to what its like.

    hey nickyg,
looks like it would be a good starter, only glaring bad point is the passenger gutter, looks like shite! but other than that should be interesting.. paint looks really old, the blackouts are faded to buggery so i'm assuming if the paint is fading and there is no massive rust it should be relatively rust free???? the localised precipitation around the van may be deceptive to how shiny the paint actually is.

get someone that you trust to have a look and you cant go wrong, and even better get them to take some photos for you.

good luck and hold out for the right one.

I can tell you right now that the paint is all faded. How do I know? I brought my Flamenco Red HZ home last week and washed all the crap off it. When dry it's looks dull, when it's wet it sparkles. He's sprayed that van with water probably while he was holding the camera getting ready to take the shot.

There is a great thread about the water spray job on aussiev8 somewhere. Guys car goes from chalky matt black to deep and shiney with a bit of water on it.

That said, I've got some meguires 3 part polish that does some ammazing things to chalky old paint.

cheers guys i might have to go down with my uncle and cousin to look at it... Yeah i noticed the rust in the sills but withour really any experience in rust repair etc i cant really tell how bad it really is.. But as i said if anyones from vic and wants a kick "lol" feel free

    --- Updated ---

the reason im liking it is i want a HZ windowless preferably on duel fuel etc etc meaning a little less work.. but all goes out the window and is nothing if it is rusted and bogged and the body isnt straight..... Also he wants 9k.. bit steep i think id rather a van without all the interior done so im not paying for something ill strip out

yep that is defiantly a fair point about the rust repairs. if you can get someone who knows vans to have a look it would be great. the gutter areas can be very tricky to repair if the damage is extensive. tricky = expensive. Looking at it now looks promising as the instruments on dash look nice and bright still, always a good sign of the condition and life of a car.

9k for a relativy rust free van that is running with a bit of fruit is a fair price, especially if its a sandman...

    black outs.
    black steering column
    courtesy light switches in doors
    old paint....?

    check the numbers
