The tonneau was a hardcover. The Ewet was a styling exercise, they would have just built it without the holes for the tonneau. There was a second vehicle built too with near identical specifications, not sure if it had the same body and interior treatment though. I have a nice colour picture of the Ewet taken at the Sydney Motor show too, for the book. I also have an original of this magazine to scan this article for the book if I cna find the holder of the publishing rights to get permission.
The article is wrong too, the Ewet didn't have an LSD, the second car did. Ewet was Air/Steer. Sister was Steer and LSD.
Notice the vans on the cover, even when new they were modded. HQ has an ugly rear sedan/coupe bar and the HJ has Kingswood/Premier tail-light surrounds but they've left the HOLDEN lenses. How ugly is that yellow towbar? The HQ looks like it might have 350 transfers on the guards.
