I went to town looking for a ute. Had $4000 to spend so we went through the saturday paper and called up everyone with a HQ-WB Holden around that price.
First one was a HQ tonner 202 3 on tree. It had a shiny timber tray, and nothing else good.
2nd HZ tonner 308 4 speed. Drove good but body was beat up.
3rd HZ panelvan 308 4 speed. Good body, all the good GTS bits, nice wheels. Got about 200m down the road and dad goes "This is the one. You don't need a ute, we've got a trailer". (he was doing the test driving cause I was on my L's) Wasn't till a few years later that it got verified as a Sandman.
