Any "mySandman" entrants going to the Van Nats for the first time, make sure you drop in to the bar on Thursday or Friday night and I'll buy you a welcoming drink and get you settled in. If you wish, we can arrange an up close look at some of the country's best vans and introductions to their owners, or some of the events long time characters like Ripty, James (Mystic Fantasy, Bad Company/ShoVan, Coca Cola Easy Roller, XX-308) or maybe some of the editorial contributors to the old CV&T and many owners of Nationals winners from the years gone by.

Chrissy and I are travelling down to the event with Sundowners (from Sydney) but may cross paths with Sunstate (from QLD) before we hit the border as we did in 2010. Looking forward to the event a little more than usually this year as we may have that upholstery job on Elegantly Wasted up to a competitive level this year.

my plans are to head over friday and stay until monday and head back to radelaide

i *may* have found some buddies to go across with (a dude in vcsa who has a ford GT van and a GS van - just pending his better half's approval)

i would feel heaps guilty if i couldnt attend especially after pestering Jennie and Rodney to get their van done so we could park the 'twins' on the oval and i do still owe them a round for the elusive fuel cap
