I have been going through the dash fascias and consoles I have and have started stripping the paint from them. I noticed once they are stripped clean that the black plastic appears different to the original finish.

So I looked a little deeper. The Nos HJ instrument cluster I have is painted in a rather flat lustreless finish.... yes... the plastic speedo face is painted plastic.

I have found out that all the black plastic parts are actually painted black over the black plastic, this includes the consoles.

Instrument fascias are painted suede and the other parts are medium gloss. I then found a document to back up what I observed..... while it is HQ it appears correct for HQ through to WB paintwise.
