after doing all the measuring i found that i needed at least an f350 dually iin wheelbase...what i found was an 82 ford transit with 250 6 cyl and auto that has always been a camper with a walkthru but the guy took the camper off..so its a cab chassis that is still registered so i dont need to engineer it and im just waiting for it to get down here from north of coffs harbour..it should have been here for this weekend but did not make it...:(
hiace chassis is coming out from under the camper tomorrow..just been pulling the fuel tank and water tank out today to get clearance for the rear wheels to roll under the camper...

the work isnt that hard...todays effort...
the guy in the maroon shirt is one of my best customers..always there to lend a look and get in pics..the way that millard attached the campers was fairly basic back in the early 80s..2x2 wood and some tin amd lots of screws..a snap on reciprocating saw fixed those and we cut around the back of the cab straight threw the wood and screws, unbolted the chassis from the camper and dropped both back wheeels off and skull dragged it out from under the camper...now its some tidy up and wait for the new mule to arrive..more pics soon...

after waiting 4 weeks the transit arrived..sometimes you must be patient if its cheap transport..anyhow it is everything the guy i bought it from said and better..took us an hour to get it running..had spat 2 pushrods on cylinders 2 and 6 on the exhaust valve and had a dud spark plug on number 5...turns out that its a 1980 and has the cast head 250 and c4 auto, which is fine by me as they are pretty much bullit proof.
so this past sunday we put the camper on the transit..things went smoothly and it all lined up..next sunday we will be putting a holden van fuel tank under the back as the transit one was rooted and it was in the way..securing the back down completely and wiring the tailights so we can drive it home and my mate can finish off the other mods we are doing..

If the van fits on the tonner, are you looking at selling the tray? Looking for something similar in the next month or so. PM if it's going please.
Hmmm, did n't read the whole thread... Tray still there?

yeh the tray is still attached to my tunna,,even if i removed the tray from the tunna it would never be for sale... that tunna was the first nice vehicle i had owned since a new escort van in 1976..cost 34k in 1997 and took me 4 years to do the lease and then the gst kicked in which attracted gst on the end of my lease and then i had to commercial hp my residual for another 2 years and then my accountant ripped off all his customers and the tax office put my company into liquidation...with 1 payment left..BITCHES...that tunna has been thru major financial pain so it goes no where..currently sleeping under a hoist..
damn, fits like it was made for it
are you painting the camper to match the truck
