hey its on ebay at the moment with 5 days to go......
buy it now $18,000. - MAYBE A TAD STEEP.

i SOLD THIS ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO, AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SEEN IT SINCE.
ITS AN EARLY HX IN MANDARIN, L32 , M20. 1950kg GVM
i brought it as an $800 shell - not even rolling.
the prevoius owner to me wrecked it out - hence now its a bit of a bitsa.
- HZ SLE dash
- twin headlight front, HZ grille
- worked 350 chev, T350
- interior etc.

but it was a good honest rust free van before paint.

i was going to drive it around Australia, but i blew the T350 3 days before the ferry left Tasmania.
so i left it at the parents house and took my 350 chev WB ute instead for the trip.
after settling in W.A., i had to sell it, along with my strike me pink LJ GTR, and 56,000 mile EH premier which were still in Tas..
the year was about 1999 - 2000.

i would build it differently now of course, i would keep the chev, but keep the rest more of a modified stock.
not to mention the improvement in workmanship that time + experience brings

Back then when i had it, a girl at GMH customer service told me if it didn't have XX7 or XU3 it wasn't a sandman, so i wasn't confident of its ID.
Grrrrrr.

also back then, i had no idea where to get the stickers, so it went without.

oh well, you can't keep them all..

Mate that is one hot van. I totally agree that the price is very steep but it's a nice example. Some good Sandmans popping up lately. Might have to save up a bit and see if I can get one at a good price.

if its same as when i sold it $13 - $15k would be a good price.
