Just had a closer look at the USA made wheel. It is offset futher inwards by about 15mm than the GMH wheels. What is it off?

They are a different offset to the GMH wheels, but it wasn't quoted in literature. Are the imported wheels 6JK or 6JJ? 6JK only have 1 x safety bead.

You can't legally use that rim on a car post 1972 as it only has 1 x safety bead.

Hey Byron can you enlighten me on saftey beads. I have heard them mentioned before and have never really known what to look for on the rim.
I wasnt planning on using it, may aint and re-sell it.
I am after two more rims at the moment if anyone has a couple of spares? As usuall the only part of my resto I thought I had in the bag went to sh^& as soon as I had a crack at it!

Geez, this is old! Almost ready for a birthday!

Look at the JJ rims. These have a safety bead on each side on the rim, just in from the bead. The JK rims only have one on one side. The safety beads are designed to keep the tyre out near the bead in case of a flat.
