    There is a mob in SA...... Dash Originals???? or something like that. They make repro door trims for $550.00 a pair. All I've seen is the pics on ebay but they look OK.....from a novices view point. I sent them an email back in October about the HJ trims and they said there was about a 6 month wait. They actually rang me last Tuesday to say they were doing a run of HJ trims and asked if I still want a set. Unfortunately the radiator in my Chev crapped itself ( after only 44 years..so much for quality ) and there went my door trim budget.....for now. The lady said she would ring me when they do their next run.

    I have visited Dash Original and was very impressed with what I saw. I was quoted $880 for a brand new HQ dash, made with a fibreglass centre. They even have an original HQ dash to test mount the repo. Apparently the person who makes the fibreglass centres is very slow but very good and that they can take up to 8 months to deliver. A couple of seats I saw in the showroom looked superb. They completely disassemble the seats, repair and powder coat before recovering them. I did put out a request on a previous thread if anyone had had any dealings with them but had no response. I took a sample of the Doeskin I will need for my door trims and it looks to be very good material.

    Sorry I missed your feedback request for Dash Original. I have had a few pieces repaired by them, and all I have to say is they are fantastic. Leonie is such a fantastic lady and she will eagerly listen to your car stories (even though she hears them all day!). Zig is all business, he has been doing this for years and is very 'matter of fact' and flat out, so doesn't chat much. But knows his craft extremely well.

    I had a crash pad recovered and a dash fascia rebuilt! Results are here in my Shed;

    Thanks very much for that, you have saved me a lot of time as I have much trim work to do. Any other Adelaide suppliers you recommend for bits and pieces?

    Zig can do your trim - all of it! If you want it faster then you could try Winner Products, however I have no experience with them.

    The SkiMan can point you to a chromer they are in Wingfield (??) They do exchange work only, and I'm sorry I do not have their details with me.

    What other 'bits & pieces' you after?

    The ute I have bought has basically no interior trim to speak of, I will need a console, dash fascia, arm rests and other items. I expect it to arrive sometime in the next week or so (costing me $250 plus a carton from central Qld) and until it arrives I dont really know what I have and don't have. I am in no hurry to restore but I want to do it with high quality bits as I plan to totally strip it down in a few years and repaint to the original colour. I therefore want to do the interior properly so I don't have to do it again. It has a new black headlining (not fitted) which I wont need as I will need a Doeskin one to be original. I will need the wires for the headliner I think. The bumpers have been painted which I will have to have sandblasted and rechromed if they are okay, but for a while I will put up with the current ones. Lots of money I think.

    I agree Blocker, Leonie is so wonderful to talk with considering she must take calls all day from people asking when their stuff will be ready. Such a pleasure every time I've called her before, during and after I'd ordered.

    I'm waiting on a set of Black door trims for my HQ GTS/4 which should be ready fairly soon. I'd heard he was having time off, about 4 weeks around April I think. (was getting married or something) I chose to go with them because I'd heard about the quality of his work and was told it was definitely worth the wait.

    Price I was quoted was $895 for a set of 4 which I thought was pretty good.

    Yes Ben is one of the trimmers, and he's got a hot date with a bride soon
    I dropped in tonight and I was shown a stunning 2 door Pacer that they are just completing the seats on.

    Noice ... I luv the ol Vals. I bought an Orange & Black R/T Charger replica as my first 'road' car for $1600 when I was 16. I then sold it to my younger brother to buy a straight as HQ wagon.
