Here is a pic of what Dash Original call HJ-WB Ute trim;
Would this one be better named as HJ-WB base model trim? A little more confused again.
By the look of that trim it is HJ ours is the buckskin one you first put up, will take a pic for you.
The HJ trims are easy to get done, but the HZ need to be vinyl welded, and the chome strip put in...the guy at Eastern autos has the GMH machine to do this...hense we got ours from there....even though they got lost and were a hassle to eventually get, they do a great job...
HZ Jasmine Yellow Windowless Sandman, now being driven everywhere and is finished!
HZ Madeira Red Windowless sandman now Sold to Bigrob
HX Mandarin Red Sandman Ute finished, and club registered
1979 HZ malachite windowless van with 308 5spd, all chromed up and shiny finished and named "The Player"
Married to RodneyHZ253
That is the style Andrew, original HJ ones however had a different textured vinyl across the bottom which I believe the repro's don't have. Sort of an artificial carpet look from memory...
4/75 HJ XX7 Sandman Panelvan ... Persian Sand currently restoring
7/76 HX Monaro 4dr 308 4sp... Absinth Yellow and rusty as hell.. SOLD
3/77 HX Sandman Panelvan ... Absinth Yellow and rusty as hell .. SOLD
I am trying to decide which way to go with my door trims. I contacted Dash Original and was informed that they can't get the 63v Buckskin vinyl but can make them if I source the vinyl. I have just enough NOS Buckskin to do door trims but I thought that the door trim is made from a different type of vinyl. I also would rather keep the NOS stuff as it is enough to redo my seats that are good but old and may crack with some use.
Winner products have the 63V as pictured below and from what I can see it looks like a good reproduction. It looks a shade or 2 darker but could be camera, computer screen or my failing eyes. Has any one seen any of these in the flesh or compared them to original vinyl?
Which way did you go blocker? Were you happy with the result?
So my choices are....
Go NOS buckskin (If the vinyl is correct type) from a highly recommended trimmer.
or
Go repo buckskin and hope it close. ( why can't dash original get the same repo stuff?)
Thanks
Blocker,
I think this is what Absinth was talking about with the lower part of the door trim being different (HQ SS shown but you get the idea)

Hi, I was wondering what type of door trim a HQ belmond sandman had? Is it the HQ Belmont door trim or the HQ GTS door trim? does it have armrests? does anyone have any photos of these?
Cheers,
Check out this thread, has some photos of door trims which may help, these are Kingswood though, http://www.mysandman.com.au/forums/s...ode-for-HQ-Ute , otherwise check out the belmonts on this site http://gallery.oldholden.com/Mr_Jone...nterior+Codes/, this site is very very helpful for trim information.

Winner products do the HQ Belmont Door trims in Black for the HQ SS. He has said to me that he would make a brown ones if I supplied the vynal. The door trims were basic Belmont but you could option the arm rests with the different door handles I believe.

Hard to find origional ones without speaker holes... look in HQ tonners but I have only managed to find 1 set but they had two small holes in them for a handle (WTF for $6 on ebay). Aust Post decided to crush the box which snapped the metal top off one of the boards...![]()
