Thanks everyone. Reading the above, I'm leaning towards bead blasting provided it gets rid of bog etc. I like the look of the sandblasting in James' post but worry it might be a bit harsh on the metal. If a sandblaster can convince me he/she will take care, I might go that way. I'll let you know. Cheers, Nige
