No, Kingswood ute was available from HK commercial release around 3/68 through to the death of the WB commercials in Dec 1984.
Thanks for reply mate, im new to the whole old holden world. Ive just brought an 82 holden ute. And noticed that the 84 seem to be badged as Kingswood and wondered what they had different being the last model.
What changed in the WB Utes between the years? Noticed different mirrorss and some with wheel caps? Sorry for getting off track maybe i need to start a new thread for my questions i have lots of them.
The earlier WB holdens had the awful mutant front with the round lights and ugly grill. The Kingswoods had the plastic grill and rectangle headlights. They dropped the mutant front all together and all wb's got the Kingswood front.
Kingswoods had the plastic mirrors that were body coloured and also got the wide black full length mouldings and vertical B pillar stainless trim.
They also had the same hubcaps as the HZ Kingswood passenger cars.
Oh they also had a slight trim colour change in 83 in line with VK commodore trim colours. Not sure of dates and if all trim colours changed or if only Oyster combo was added.
Probably a heap of other things as well I have forgotten or dont know.

This is the mutant front

Actually all 1-tonners HQ-HZ had the basic front. You could option them up a bit with a special vehicle package (XY7 I think it was) with chrome grille, bar and hubcaps. And you could get an Ambulance pack (option BO6) in HJ-HZ which got Premier front and armrests (this was the only way you could get a 308 in a tonner).
So do the BO6 tonners have the HJ-HZ cowl panel fitted to the cab body and all other tonners have the HQ cowl panel and HQ bonnet then?
