Havent tried it myself but (AOMC) vic - association of motoring clubs inc vic - are supposed to have the old vic roads card data base for rego's,engine numbers etc. They have a website if you google it. Expect it wouldnt have any personal details but if you were chasing original rego or confirmation for a date correct motor it would be handy.
