I did it to my old SII RX7 many years ago when the wheel started to look ugly. It didn't feel all that bad but the jury was out on whether it looked uglier wrapped or worn!

anyone got any photos of one done, id get it stitched the the same as its imprinted in the original plastic, hopefully she could get a bit of leather the size of the wheel and cut the centre out so the only joins would be around the inner and outer circumfrence not across the diameter like the vy/vz commies

Are you talking about getting a cover made-up or one of those dimpled ones that were prefabbed and used a leather lace or stitched-up around the inside circumference of the wheel? My wheel is not quite smooth yet but I'm looking at doing something similar to mine and am interested in what you have found out re: cost etc....

    Regards,

    Dave

yeah a non removable cover i spose, really the same as a newish commodores, it wont be prefabbed, my trimmer will make it out of a bit of leather and stitched together tight on the wheel, i want it to look as original as possible tho, she quoted me $65 bucks today ill give her my wheel and pick it up done when shes done, ive got to go pick up my new door cards and seats next week

like this ve one except i dont want the stitching across the wheel, only where the fake stitching is originally on the wheel
