    Hilux just got destroyed

Heading home from Greg's. Uninsured P plater doing aomething like 80-100 in a 60 zone lost control on a LH bend. I saw him coming and started to head off the road, but he swung around clockwise and his passenger front door/gayrd collected me on the front RH side (right on the RH side rail), and swung around and destroyed the driver's side too. Enough so that I couldn't get out the door, had to climb out the passenger side. Off to the hospital to get my neck checked out, I think the curtain airbag whacked me pretty bad. Hilux doesn't look too pretty! I think the rail is bent, floor is lifted under the seats, windscreen cracked. Doors are hard to open. Cab has whacked the tub. Inner guards are all squashed towards the rear. It is less than 10 months old! Repairable writeoffs are gone in NSW so I reckon they'll try to repair it. It is insured with NRMA for $50,500. I'm glad I was in this with and not an old HJ!

Damn that sucks Byron, insurance should be compulsory for P platers. Glad your Ok though, hope the neck isn't too serious.

Ouch! Surely they wouldn't try to repair that, even with the new laws. The driveline should net them a decent amount at auction and cause it's not your fault they'll chase the other guy for the money anyway I would think. Was he insured?

Hope you are right Greg. I'm OK just seatbelt and airbag sore! May end up with a 2011 spec SR5!
