thanks to our mysandman Oracles Oz and Absinth...

so i guess i'll just have to keep a very close eye on the water level and will put up with it draining out onto the road every time i turn it off. so bottom line is that no bottle with radiator draining onto road is how it should be yes?

Yes..... the overflow hose is held to the side of the radiator with two tabs bent around it and the hose extends about 6inches past the bottom of the radiator.

Just have your radiator checked by a radiator shop or do what I do and just get it re-cored for peace of mind. Around $350 is bugger all in the scheme of things....

ski man I don't top up my water level I leave it about an inch low to allow for the heat expansion RB but mate if you feel comfitable with a tank then install it but remember to install the correct radiator cap to go with the tank

I remeber I had one in my HJ sedan (202) my HZ ute (202) but not in my HJ (253) ute, that bottle in the pics is identical to what was in those cars, dont know if they were orig or not tho couldve come from wreckers before I got the cars
