Thanks guys I didn't realize they were there, now I have looked at them, it looks very sandmanish to me...in fact it would be hard to prove otherwise, stuff the tags, Catto6 just tell people they are in the safe, keep those pics as proof...build it back into a Sandman if that is what you would like to do, andit....have you any idea where the original tags might be...just so you can at least work out what the motor should be, and colour, but you should be able to tell colour anyway...

No worries, but it is a Sandman as far as I can see, we washed one of our tags off our yellow van, and it was only shear luck that my brother in law found it in the quarry wash bay or we would not be able to prove ours either.....Good luck with your resto, and if we can be of any help just give us a hoy...where abouts are you situated...

Rust in the cowl under the windscreen is the hardest to fix, and utes tend to rust behind the Bpillar near the back window as well. If its good in those places then it will be a lot easier to get to the end!
cheers jen im in perth what bout yourself??
cheers wbute ill have to go over that bit and have a look the windscreen still in it havnt taken it out yet only got it on tuesday.

Rodney and I are in central West NSW Parkes, (the Dish radio telescope) a long way from you....love Perth thought, they are holding Van Nats there next year at Easter, so you will be able to go and have a look....WBute is 1.5 away from us as well...we are live in a farming community, and there is a massive mine which keeps it going during drought....

Look up from under the dash at where the air vents come inot the cab and you will find the rust if its there. Also it will more than likely have rust holes or bubling on the panel near the lower corners of the windscreen. This panel that runs across on the outside of the car below the windscreen is called the plenum chamber. The chamber part is where the air is drawn into the cab through the grill below the windscreen. It is a big cavity and it is 100% designed by Holden to rust out from the inside out!
or yer long way away lol im just out of the city not far probly 40kms out.
cheers wbute looks like i have alot to learn glad i come across this site now lol ill keep that in mind also where do you look for the chassis number ??
