I think value all depends on each car on its own merits ... 100% proof of being genuine is worth a premium to some I guess.
But I look at it from a simpler perspective ... its not going to make ownership any more fun either way.

Since when do you need complete history, receipts and a XX7 stamped on ya tags to be "100%" sure you've got a sandman????
Is this something new that I've missed over the last 30 years?
There's a lot of "genuine" sandmans on monaroparts.com that don't have em....!!!
I've got two genuine sandmans, matching numbers & everything (inc orig engines) Now I'm 150% positive that there sandmans, so what's the difference, if mine were'nt made at Acacia Ridge.
I smell a discrimination case pending................
I've also never noticed price imbalances because of the XX7 stamp, maybe that's a NSW thing???
Can anybody further explain?
Cheers Al.
sorry guys... i reckon agro is right on the money and i must agree as a collector first and licensed motor dealer for over 25 years a second..
anything that can not be questioned by its tags is worth the bucks..
if it has xx7 its never gunna be questioned as to wether its a real sandman...
i know it sucks but it is a reality of collectors and dollars..
I have to agree here guys, with an XX7 stamped plate there is no need to look any further and no doubt (as long as chassis and tags numbers agree) about originality. Of course the other Sandman identifing factors in many cases satisfy owners/buyers of authentisity, but an XX7 stamp says Sandman... I believe that that this may have a bearing upon value if the prices soar (as I believe they will) in the future. If the Sandman's took a similar path as the GT's in value (probably since I've sold mine), collector and enthusiasts would be looking for and hold more value in the XX7 stamp.

Hi, I also agree with ozbox and Jeza
Especially if you don't know or can't find it past or histroy of owners.
As long the tag and chassis match up, always going to be a sandman.
I also feel if you have the right trim code, identification numbers, everything match's up (tag and chassis), even if you know the history or proof or it has other sandman features, with all these bits of identification together, it would be very hard to prove it not a sandman.
Personally xx7 and xu3 said everything, long everything else match up (tags hasn't been swap).
