[QUOTE=jennie285;19453]funny that I had cars as well, and wish I had kept them, I have all my farm animals, they are called Britains and I see them for $5-20 in antique toy shops, I let my kids, and nephews play with them, I have a beautiful dolls house, built by my late father, (a homestead all out of timber) and it has all the gorgeous furniture in it too, I have my original Thomas the tank engine hardcover books which I had long before they were popular on ABC. I also have a stable built by my father, and really well made rubber horses, with leather saddles, and bridles. (bought in UK before migrating) I then moved onto real horses...
I have kept all our kids toys because we have space, unlike my parents....[COLOR="Silver"]

Britans....now theres a name from the past, I had that stuff as well, all metal and well made, jeez Id forgotten about that! Also got that package Jennie. Thanks a mill for that, Ill return the favour soon!

My favourite toys were a madel Scamel semi trailer and a John Deere 40 series tractor with a big set of offset discs. I wore the tractor out. I took it to Foster once and it ploughed up the wet beach sand unreal! I can just see the surfies looking strangely at the country kid ploughing the beach up
Sadly I rescued the tractor and plough from the shed and put them in our house when I left school and the house burnt down not long after that. Should buy another one for the kids I suppose.......more like me

i was spoilt when i was a kid, my grandma worked in a toy shop and used to buy me matchbox cars all the time, still have a heap in the cupboard in the shed, gave away all my lego and tonka trucks years ago to cousins and nephews... i had a big afx slot car set permanently set up on a table in the spare room, me and dad spent hours in there.. i still have all the cars from that set.....

My favorite toy was my Capsela set.

I have since collected a few sets and my kids today love them. It comes out on rainy days.

My second favorite was my realistic 150 in 1 electronics kit. I have since found a few of these and they are just getting to the age to appreciate them.

Not my favorite but definitely memorable was my TV Scoreboard game, Cutting edge technology in about 1976. 6 slightly different versions of Pong. WOW! Needless to say I have not tried to find one of these to show my kids.

i have one if you want it....

So my favourite toys when i was growing up were slot cars... not the pansy scalextric crap that you take out the box and watch as they slowly go round, but i had a huge passion for vintage hand built brass frame slotties from the 60's and 70s... i came across a few at a garage sale one day and i now have about 25 frames and upwards of 40 shells...

As a kid i'd spend literally every weekend at the local 8-slot and never grew tired of it, only now that the traditional raceways are few and far between it makes for a very static hobby

dont know what im talking about... here's some pics:

not my cars, but just some pretty close pics for reference
