3 Seats doesn't mean it wasn't a 4 speed. Just had a big ugly shifter.

It could be a number of things, one of them being a Sandman with ID plates changed.
If the ID plates are original to the body it is a HJ Holden (not Belmont - this was gone on commercials at the end of HQ) van which was optioned with a 4spd, courtesy lights and B30 comfort pack (carpet and headlining). This creates a slight dilemma as B30 on HJ is supposedly not available outside Sandman, which makes me thing the tags on yours don't belong to the body. GTS guards and dash makes this look even more so. Does it have brackets for a console?
Am aware some ss/hq's were issued to s/a police .... Could this be wats happened here .... Ive tracked ownership back 20 yrs where the previous owner had kept in condition it was bourt . It is a (hj8wm70)
If it has console brackets and full length headlining then the body is a Sandman body. However if the ADR tag says 3 seat capacity it is either a mistake (which is pretty rare as ADR plates were not stamped by GMH) or the tags don't belong to the body. Send me the ID tag details and i'll tell you if they all belong together. Be careful of "factory" rivets, as they can be changed and you'd never know.
Take a close look at the Tags on my HJ XX7 tags and it is clear to see it was stamped as 3 seater and then restamped as 2 over the top. I reckon there is a possibility yours could have the same mistake but un-corrected? http://www.mysandman.com.au/forums/s...p?t=515&page=1
