    HX Tag Discrepancy

I have a 1976? HX Sandman Van. Mandarin Red, Silver GTS dash with white needle gauges, All the correct blackouts, Black mirrors, Full headlining, Black interior etc.

So I'm 100% sure my Van is original, have been for years now, but looking through the ID section I compared my numbers and found that my VIN stated 1977 whereas my ADR says 1976. I read on this site that the ADR plates weren't stamped by holden, so could this plate have been stamped within a month of the VIN?

I have photos of all the tags, but they're not very good pictures (off my phone) I'll list the details of the plates below.

    HX PANEL VAN
    11-76
    SEATING CAP 2

    HX8WM70
    1890 18V
    L31 M21 GV4

    8M70TG J550451X

I've broken it all down, but the dates are now really bothering me. Can anyone ease my mind?

GMH's model year began on the 1st of Sept so all cars built after that date had the next model year stamped on the VIN. Yours is fine

Whats the body and chassis no of your van? body should be close to 216930A

Thanks for that. *sigh of relief*

    Body No 216088-A
    Chassis No AHX 03428M

Is there a way of knowing if the body and chassis numbers match? I know the motor is not original, nor is the diff or the front clip, But these are all currently being sourced.

These all align fine. I assume it is an XX7 (1950kg)?

If you are for certain the tags have not been removed from the original body, then check the ADR plate - it will have the chassis number stamped on it. the right Right of the date and year stamp.

Not XX7, Built in the Dandenong plant, but the plate does read 1950kg

That's what Byron meant Dago - that it is an XX7 package, not that it has XX7 stamped on the body plate.

Aaah right haha whoops. Still learning.

Oh, and the numbers do match, but I can't read my pictures clearly, I'm thinking I've mistaken the 'M' for an 'X' on one of them
