Body shell only? The HZ has twin headlight front and GTS gaurds. HX has single headlight and no GTS gaurds. Other than that I don't know of any other differences. Not including dash etc.

Hi Colben. If you looking at a rebody with a different series HX and HZ you should be fine as long as you don't try and pass it off as original body (can opener and can of worms at the ready). You wont notice a difference unless you know what to look for, if you want to be picky your least preference is a Kingswood, try and stick with commercial of different series.

Clarify your situation and the blanks can be filled in for you.

Check the seams from the top of the rear 1/4 panel, check inside and see how much rust has got through because there is a bit of a ledge there.

You'r not far from the Goatman and me as well. We should do another Adelaide catch up one Sunday arvo.

HZ doesnt have GTS guards, they dropped them after HJ, and HZ has RTS and has a badge on dash, and on the tailgate....
also different steering wheels....and a high compression 253 was fitted in a HZ as the HX 253 was sluggish....

I can readily pick the bodies apart, but I won't publish the differences. There are plant differences too.

the first option would be to replace the roof section only, if that can be done. i am almost certain
my HX has its original body as i have found the royal plum metalic colour paint under the existing
paintwork. so best to keep this if possible. are there many differences in the roof section other than the rear headlining strip.
HX was built in Dandenong will check where HZ was built

HX and HZ roofs will be fine as long as they are both Sandmans or Kingswoods. Both are probably Elizabeth bodies.
