What is your unobtanium for your restoration, or what part did you make a compromise on because it was just too hard to find?
Interested to here what is getting harder to find... prompted by comments of bumper bars and tailgates
Well...... I will tell you the hardest part to find for a wb is bucket seat seatbelt stalks, followed by a console lid. 10 Years to find the stalks.
HX so far everything......lol.
stripes? lol.
ok serious..... hmmm GTS dash Facia.
For myself NOS buckskin golfball insert vinyl for my HZ GTS. Was very very hard to find! But did find some.
Also anything other than chinease ball joints is near impossible..... and getting much harder ever day!
At this stage with my HZ GTS the only thing I want to find NOS is a HZ GTS steering wheel horn button. So I guess this maybe something that I wont find.....

Ozbox did a great job resurecting our GTS lion centrecap whilst there on the Newcastle get together, and painted the rubber piece for us....we bought a rare, rarespares centre cap which had a half lion button, which he kindly organised, and is the norm for late HZ WB, so we have a spare one...so agree these are very rare

Would you believe the hardest thing I had to find was a bog stock, non locking, plain ol' painted petrol cap.
I saw a few on ebay and missed the first one at $55.00....the second one at $75.00...the third one I thought I had with a $95.00 bid.....and lost it to $96.00 + $15.00 postage. I was watching another one the other day that started at $15.00 and sold for $106.00 + postage.
I got lucky the day I rang Ozbox so now I have a bog stock, non locking, plain ol' painted petrol cap.
Hard to imagine something so insignificant could be so hard to come by....now for that elusive standard, non rubber inserted, plain front bumper bar.....I'm sure there are millions of them out there....somewhere.![]()
a correct date coded qt prefix 308 for my hq sandman when i had it....10 years to find and ended up i was only 900 engine numbers off....had to pay $3550 for the rusty pos it was in and another 1k to get it to newcastle from adelaide...mind you it was in an hz sandman that ive wrecked out since..
