    HSV Avalanche XUV

Im thinking of buying a 2005 Cross 8 Avalanche and was wondering if any of the members here have either got one, owned one or know anything about them that might help me decide on gettin one!

I had a 2003 and 2005 Crewman and loved them. They both had some diff issues but noyhing too serious.

So any info would be appreciated.

    Thanx.
    Gaddy.

My old boss had one that I drove a few times. Can't say I was overly impressed. It didn't have that punch that the other HSV's i'd driven had. Not sure how much extra weight comes with the 4wd system and it was an auto but it really didn't feel as performance oriented as I expected.

I had a VZ Cross8. Big heavy bus but I put a single 3" manifolds back system and tune by Oztrack and it was awesome. A friend of mine has one too, his has extractors and tune. Mine was around 200awkW and picked up heaps of economy with the tune. HSV versions (like most HSV) are ugly but shouyld go better. My friend upgraded the brakes on his and he loves it, mine was underbraked.

Gaddy I had a 04 model cross8 ute for 5 years and it was a great ute there were only two problem with it 1st (even though I have 2 sandman's)it was a Holden and 2nd it used as much petrol as the queen Mary . I was never impressed with the auto box it felt sluggish like a trimatic but it's 4x4 ability was a lot better than anyone give them credit for. the kerb weight was around 2000 kg so it's like driving a commodor car around and towing a loaded box trailer of 700 kg all the time

Mine was like that until I got the exhaust and tune (tune also includes the box). Totally changed the vehicle. Economy was great for what it was.
