Hey welcome to the forums! Yep the XX7 tells you immediately that it is a Sandman.
what you need to do is check that the plates actually belong to the chassis - so check your drivers side chassis rail next to the steering box and you'll have a number stamped on the rail.
This number should match the one on the ADR plate - 18777B

Some more photos of the van would be great if you could.

Welcome brgy. I guess the next thing to do is decide whether you have the passion to restore it. Bring it back to its former glory. A lot of blood, sweat and tears but very worth it, considering its an XX7.

Welcome buddy, congrats on the van.

No thinking required, fix, flick switch, fkn cruise.

Is it just me or do others get a buzz outta seeing new people and new vans.

I missed this thread, and that set of numbers is new to me. Chassis has been restamped though by the looks of it.

    Yeah nice lookin ute! Welcome!

Byrons right though; that chassis is a bit of a dogs breakfast. If its already been regoed though then I dont suppose its a problem.

It was really popular in the late 80's to convert pano's into utes. Remember Holden weren't making utes so utes pulled good prices. I remember my Sandman had rust around the side windows and a bit in the roof/body seam, so I really considered it. I even thought about making a one tonner out of mine, but I think the chassis was different so I didn't.

    Cheers Geoff
