guard colour on inside

i have noticed the inside of my guards on the raised section only were it mounts
to the inner guards is painted black. the guards had never been removed before
and i just thought it odd as the inside is the same colour as the out side but the
mounting point is black and i have looked at as many pictures as i can find and mine
appears to be the only one like it i can find. can anyone give me some addvise its a 4/76

inner gaurd colour on all hq to hz should be black...wb is the first to get body colour matched engine bay complete....

The bit of the guard you see should be body colour. The bits you can't can vary from overspray to primer to black. As Greg says most HQ-HZ have black elsewhere apart from some HQ's (Pagewood from memory) with painted firewall.

i read the first post wrong..i thought he was refering to the inner gaurd in the engine bay that removes from the gaurd not the inside of the outer gaurd itself...yeh what byron said as well ....if you understand what im waffling about...
