Was just rolling back through some old threads and found this gem (I'd forgotten all about some of the extra body work on Blo Bak 1 and 2 - those twin tail lights were different)! Yeah, they still make Slick 50 but it isn't really marketed here any more. Aparently those tests they used to do with that rotary engine were fair dinkum (they used to treat the engine with the stuff, then drain the oil then go racing with no oil in the engine....) .I used to use it on a couple of customers cars (you needed to wait until the engine had run in properly for at least 5000km before using it). I think one treatment lasted 50 or 80,000km?
One customer in particular used it in his '85 VK that we had tickled up a bit. He used to do track days at Oran, Amaroo and Catalina Park etc. He swore by it and (the new then) Mobil 1 in that thing. I think Slick 50 had some form of silicone based polymer compound in it that coated everything in the engine with a slippery coating that wouldn't carve off, especially during cold start.
