Sandman Value?

Hi All,

Someone asked me the other day the genuine monetary value of an original Sandman. I didn't really know, I have a ball park figure but still...

For instance, my 1976 HJ Jamaican Lime Sandman ute has just finished a full back to bare metal/removal of all rust restoration. So how much would it be worth?
I am in NO way interested in selling it! ;)

I would say if its spot on restored and matching numbers, $30000 ish.......

If it was a van maybe $40000. Depends if you can find a buyer to match the asking price really.

Well said Vombill. HJ/HX ($25,000-$30,000). HQ/HZ I'd say is valued at a little more. maybe ($25,000-$35,000). :errf:

I know what ours cost to restore, and no body would pay that for it...so we just won't ever sell it......

although on our honeymoon run to Newcastle, on the way home a guy hung around waiting for us to come out of the pub...and offered to buy it when I suggested a price which was what it cost to restore it, he didn't balk...then I had to back pedal, as didn't want to to sell it and thought the price I quoted would put him off...

Shannons would not budge over 30k for ours. Went Lumley instead.

I believe so, I had to send pictuces of the interior the, engine bay and of course the van, including tag info and other proof that it was a sandman eg pictures off the original paint showing the blackouts,courtesy light and hood lining rear clip.
also the van is not an ever day driver so with limited driving the insurance cost was reasonable.
