My HZ Ute is with Lumley's for agreed value of $30K I think. Probably should check and put it up a bit.....

i have 11 cars 1 bike and my house with shannons..the secret to dealing with them is to not use the people on the phone...go find a car show that shannons is sponsoring and grab a shannons rep to come and look at it.
to argue what your vehicle is worth you need very sound knowledge of the market which is hard to do if there has been no other vehicles like yours set a precedent sales wise in the market...insurers consider auctions as a genuine value guide..(ebay is not considered a genuine auction)
research shannons website for vehicles that have sold and note the auction and the date and how much, also what the car was exactly spec wise because you will need this ammo to argue your point of value for your vehicle..ive had to do it.
    as for values of sandmans...
i believe its the hq that is the most valueable because of its rarity and i also know how much i sold mine for as a basket case.
on the other hand hz sandmans are like red mustangs and arseholes..there everywhere...therefore they should be at the other end of the sandman value scale...
so if you do a value scale on rarity then it should run in order of model which is HQ HJ HX HZ..if you do your value on popularity then its gunna run back wards..HZ HX HJ HQ..

Shannons gave me "Laid up" insurance on the HJ for $25k sight unseen.
For those that don't know...."Laid Up" insurance is for when you are building your car, or have it in storage. It costs bugger all and is well worth it....in fact I'm pretty sure the extra discount I got by adding the van to my policy (already have the house and 3 other cars with them) was enough to cover the cost of the LU Insurance...or near enough to it.

Wonder what they would value my WB at. Next to nothing I suppose. Whats a more or less factory original, 253 4 speed sports dash wb worth. converted to bucket seats but done to factory specs. %100 never any rust and straight as a die.
Might ask at a car show one day.

My HQ ute was accepted at 8K, unregistered and not roadworthy. I would then like to think my ute will be worth about 15K when all back together.

Hmm Laid up insurance...might be worth looking into for the Hilux. Thanks for the Info, Shannons I have heard of, Lumleys I havent..who are they underwritten by? Also FYI dont waste you time with Elders Insurance any more, they are wholly owned by QBE now.
