    the 1800 kg is a wierd one. wasn't there a HX sandman ute in Tasmania with build number 14? (believed to be the red brochure car on wharf)AHX00014M? factory 6 cylinder and 1860 kg.

    wasn't that 1800 kg HX ute an adelaide built car? maybe it was a factory difference? not based on a change over time....

    1860kg 6 cylinder ute could be plus AC to lift the weight. One other interesting thing I was reading in the HJ supplement manual was that utes with AC had coils in the front slightly longer than non AC. The same wire diameter and spring compound so you would never pick them after they had sacked out in the car for a few years.

    Yes it is an oddity but it is built during HJ and has other HJ stuff like 19v trim. I think there were some options that increased a 6cyl car's GVW like A/C.
