    Sad

    Had a sad phone call from a friend yesterday telling me this guy sitting in the bean bag, and also owns the yellow van died last week...he had depression..(so I will leave it up to your imagination as to what happened to him). I have been trying to find him to show him pics of our van, but I guess now it is too late...anyways if anyone on this forum has inklings of this horrible illness go and seek some help and advise...he left behind a loving wife, and three boys...

    This is advice from the forum mum....

    Yes very sad. I have never really understood the mechanisms of depression, stress, addictions and the like but they are a real problem in modern society. I agree with Jenny, even if you don't think you have a depression or stress issue but you see or someone else sees the signs do something about it.

    "Go and get some help" IS the best advise Jenny. I had a brush with depression myself, and if understanding and admitting you might have a depression issue isn't hard enough (you know australian men, especially from country areas), accepting that someone else is going to help you get your head straight is even harder. As you said, once you suspect you or a friend may have an issue, the doc should be priority. A GP will refer you if he can't deal with it himself, just depends how far out of whack you are really.

    I've discussed this with a couple of mates of mine since, who I thought appeared to be a bit suspect. One was already getting treatment and the other did after I talked to him. Funny thing about it, non of us could think of any reason for it, no apparent problems, which makes it really hard to identify. However, if you get a fact sheet and read the symptoms, it's pretty obvious and opens your eyes a bit.

    I'm fine now....that's what the voices reckon anyway.....! Seriously though, my life is a whole lot better now, and on the outside, not a lot has changed.

    Very sad to hear the news Jennie.
    I've known of a few people over the years who have been unable to cope.
    That's the 3rd person today that i've heard of who have died over the last week.
    The other 2 were regular customers at work, except they were in their mid to late 80's.
    BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman

    This guy would have been 51, he was a great mate to us all and many parties were had at his various houses etc. He was a carpenter, and moved from Forbes to the gold coast in the mid 80's...

    Very sad indeed. Mental illness is something none of us can really understand, unless of course you work in the field or suffer from it personally. I recently lost my uncle to severe mental illness. It's something family or friends etc should get on top of before the person suffering from it does something that will alter the course of his life dramatically, like suicide. Even if it means getting them detained. It must be done! My heart goes out to the family. :lifesaver:

    I don't quite know how best to put this. But our friend Gaddy will be finding things very difficult as his beautiful partner Annie has passed away. She was such an amazing person and was dearly loved by all her family and friends. We spent the weekend with he and his family to try and help him get through this tough time. We have become very close to a lot of our forum members and see quite a lot regularly. If anyone want to pm me with details I can answer but don't want to go to far on social media. RIP dear Annie
