As for GTS and Sandmans, well hard to compete when Holden got wimpy and deleted them. Hang on, funny how they deleted GTS and Sandman BUT kept building the WB Kingswood. That clearly shows that only the best survived into the 80's to take the battle to Ford.
All repeat after me, WB is clearly king!
Taking a wider view: the Kingswood name started in HK. But the base model WB, ie the HOLDEN, started in 1948 with the 48/215. Yes it dissapeared for a long time once the standard and special names appeared but made a comeback in HQ on the 1-tonner and then furthermore in HJ on the utes and vans. It dissapeared again at the end of WB (around January 1985) and made a comeback on the VG ute circa 1990, and it was still around until it got canned for the Omega name in VE.
