    Thanks Blocker
I've seen them in a gloss black, also a matt black.
Just to decide which would look better on the Deauville Blue.

Tuxedo black is the correct paint for Sandman blackouts and should be full gloss.

Back in the 80's when we didn't know better most would head down to the local paint shop and pick up a can of GMH Black which I believe you can still buy today. GMH black is actually the low gloss black used on the firewall, inner guards and boot area, it isn't correct for panel blackouts.

I`ve been told that `Tuxedo Black` is only available in 2 pac and `Midnight Black`is the acrylic alternative (but that`s just what I`ve been told)...

I used Satin on mine cause I did`nt want them too glossy.

Yellow, I don't know who has been giving you advice but they are definately giving you a bum steer.... a good paint shop can mix any colour you like in any type of paint you want, if they say they can't... go to another paint shop.

If you are on the southside of Brissy then Harts paint supplies in Moss St at Slacks Creek are quite good. Whatever paint shop you go to, try and make sure it is one that specialises in automotive paint.

    Gday.

Yeah, sounds intersting.... my favourite of them all.

With that colour, you just gotta watch the half blind on the road 'coz it blends with the sky very well!!

My least favourite is yellow 'coz it attracts the bee's. (Absinth's gonna hate me) Hehe

    Cheers

    blackout measurements - HZ

    Hey guys,

my vans in getting paint done shortly and I was hoping that someone could post some thickness measurements for the door area blackouts (HZ).

my van is not the same on both sides currently and the best info i have so far is "eyeball it from the brochure"

it would be a great resource if someone with original paintwork could take a few pictures with a ruler so that all van restorers can breathe easy knowing they are fairly accurate.

many many thanks, and if you do have this info i'll say g'day and cheers with a beer or two at the next van nationals
