Thanks Oz, yeah your right, it is hard work. I figre I can save myself a ton of PG13 money by doing the hard yards myself. Lack of power in the shed means that we are hand sanding and using chemcial stripper. Looking at going to Bunnings and getting a Ryobi battery powered orbital this week. Will call ya tommorow with the details for that supplement too by the way.

Hey Rico, although I don't know the precise reason the WB's ceased production, I've alway's figured it was economic's. They wanted the tradie customer's to buy the small japanese ute's, which at the time were just called "isuzu", if my memory serves me correctly. I think the name Rodeo came later, I may be completely wrong though.

My thought's on the economic's came about because about 18 month's after I bought my ute..1/79..I recieved a letter from GMH.They were offering previous buyer's of their commercial vehicles great deal's if you wanted to trade in your old ute on the new isuzu version. Yeah right! What have they been smoking? As if I would have been interested in buying some 4 cylinder japanese buzz box.

I'd spend your money on a cheap generator instead and a couple of cheapie orbital sanders. XU1 brand powertools from Bunnings are actually reasonable quality considering they are $22 each. 12 month replacement warranty so really no reason not to. Sanders, heat guns, hammer drills, angle grinders all do 90% of what a $100 tool will and you can throw them around without fear of breaking an expensive tool. I'll often buy 3 drills so no drill bit changes needed when doing a job. 1 angle grinder with a cutting disc, 1 with a grinding disc, 1 with a wire brush. Makes jobs easier.

Plus you'll be able to plug a couple flouro's into the Genny as well. Don't buy those 500watt halogen worklights on a stand. They suck the juice, the bulbs blow all the the time and they throw out a heap of heat. An old flouro light hanging close over the job gives a better light and a single flouro tube only sucks 18W. You can put one upright on a stand for getting good light on the side of the car as well. I used to reassemble cars in the spare spray booth in winter cause it was warmer than the workshop and the light was brilliant.

Play, already sussed out the genny thing, roughly $900 for a 3.5 KvA which will run the lights etc, only issue is, the shed is next to a house and the guys there do shift work so I dont want to upset them,

Also roughly $500 for a sparky to wire up a caravan plug on the outside and hook it into the exisiting fluros and power points, Im still doing my research, if need be Ill get by with a battery powered orb ital until I can get a generator, other way is a take panels off n take em home n sand them there on my deck.

Anyone gotm any advice on the best way to polsih up the jellybeans?

GTS Dash fell through, the bloke just kept stuffin me around so Ill stick with the stock dash. Paint & trim is down to 2 colours now: Option one: White (factory colour) with Long grain brown int. Deauville Blue with slate black int. If I paint it blue, it'll go windowless, white will have the glass put back in and Ill fix it up to look like a roadside service van (not RACV or anyhting like that)

@HZEvie Thanks mate, Ill just have to find a good panel beater that can do it properly, my major concern is that it will get stuffed up and look like PG13!
