Attn WB experts ... advice needed.

    G'day all,

Need to pick the brains of the MySandman family with a couple of WB questons if I may.

I have a mate up in the bush who just bought a WB ute to do up as a daily and he is curious about a couple of things.

It's a L36, M20, with a yellow needle GTS woodgrain dash and quite tidy looking, not bad for $1500. He was wondering if a 4.2L comes factory stock with a 4 barrel carb or has it been changed over? He thought only 308 had them.

What panels does he need to fit a HJ-HZ twin h/light front to the WB ute? Rad support forward or do you need the full front clip, guards bonnet etc? I remember reading on here somewhere (maybe Mooks) about the chassis rail being different (shorter I think) and something to do with a bumper bracket mount hole, will this make a difference?

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

    cheers Tony

4.2 was standard with quadrajet in WB. Woodgrain dash is not correct, they had a black GTS Facia.

You will need guards, radiator support and front to convert to earlier front.

Chassis rails are shorter than earlier. They have the round end cut off and only two of the bumper bolts line up, but they do fit apparently.

No worries. I am not an expert though, just an enthusiastic owner of one.

    to expand on what wb said...blue v8s had 4 barrels..no 2 barrels...
you can use bonnet, bonnet hinges, inner gaurds and battery tray from the wb everything else is different including the radiator,if your talented its not hard to mount the wb radiator to the hjxz support...hjxz bar bolts up perfect but your only using the 2 rear bolts..

They could be ordered with woodgrain dash, a mate had one late 80's and another mate owns it now

WB = Worlds Best (so I've heard ) ... I'm a fan also, had a series II Caprice a few years back, nice. I've currently got my eye on a WB tonner, L31 M41 on gas to use as a daily so I can give my old EK a rest. Hmmmm hope the deal comes off.

    Thanks OZ Much appreciated!

buy it if it is factory L31! Very unusual. Then sell it to me for a terrific mates rate in a couple of years
