Upper Tailgates

Hey guys, I had the misfortune of someone wanting my upper tailgate more than I did while it was stored in a shed at my brothers. Not having much luck finding one thats worth buying. I was wondering if those fiberglass repros on ebay are any good? Has anyone bought one? Would they be value for the price? Cheers.

I also want to ask the same question. has anyone fitted one. do they look ok and do the rubbers and lock rods fit nicely.

$300 I would pay that for a mint original t/gate, so I'm thinking if these fit and last like a original then maybe its worth it?

This is the reply I got from bloke I contacted through ebay who bought a fiberglass top tailgate. Ive seen the pic on my phone it looks the part but hard to say. I cant get the photo from my phone to the computer for some reason, I'll try again latter.

Hi Aaron, I feel it is a good fit but my panel guy says there was a fair bit of work in sanding and cleaning edges, which is not unusual for fiberglass. The only problem you might say is the fitting of the new seal rubber but should be OK when we finish. I still maintain what I said in my feed back to the seller that I felt it was a bit expensive for what it is at $300, but you don't have much choice. I'll take a photo as it is at the moment on the van with my phone in the morning and send to you if you like. Good luck with your resto. Regards Grant
