They are stainless, not chrome. Yes you can paint them but see a paint expert to see how to get to stick. The black Sandman door handles were left un-chromed so as the paint would stick from the factory.

All i did with the ones i'm going to use on my HJ, were to get some scotch brite pad, rub the chrome off GENTLY, primer then pressure pack.
I had a set of a WB so it didn't matter if i wrecked them as it was only a WB and no -one cares about them......... (wait for the bite from WBute)
